Update from yesterday's blog

The oncologist called this morning and the biopsies are back already--and they are both POSITIVE! This is not the news that we hoped for and it is not good news. The 2 chemo drugs I was taking obviously did not help if skin cancer came back while I was in the midst of treatment. So now we need to move onto another set of drugs and pray that it helps. I did have skin cancer with my original diagnosis and the first chemo I had did work--it got rid of it. But those drugs were extremely toxic and you can only have so much of them--there is a lifetime dose.

The oncologist also talked to me about my cough and is proceeding with referring me to a pulmonologist to make sure there isn't cancer lurking about in my airways--if there is, it can be irradiated. But I am convinced it is a side effect of the chemo. Please pray with us that it is just a side effect.

The PET scan (full body scan) is still scheduled for Monday and we are continuing to pray that there is no progression of cancer anywhere else.

Thanks dear family and friends for all your prayers, positive thoughts and love for us! I would ask that today especially you would pray for my dear hubby and kids especially. As I spoke with my aunt a little bit ago, she reminded me that I FEEL GOOD...and that is such a great blessing! The situation could be so much worse and we are forever grateful to see God's hand in our lives despite our circumstances.
